Tired of the city, little chi set off on her adventure down south. The sunny south, the beachy south, the unfamiliar south where she could pretend to escape from life, well at least for a while.
So on friday night directly after work, little chi rushed her way to Song San Airport to catch the plane out of reality.
Airplanes are the intriguing things for the mind, at least for this little one here, everytime I step onto a plane i feel lifted above the world, not just physically but psycologically too. my worries, happiness, everything becomes so small and meaningless.
Little chi was dressed in beach attire all packed and ready to board the plane when suddenly she was stopped by a security guard.
"Is this your bag Ms.?"
"Yes"
"I am sorry, you cannot take this can on board"
"The can in your bag"
Little chi was confused, she didn't remember bringing any illegal substances in her bag. She opened her bag, peered in looking deep. Lying cradeled amidst beach towers, bikinis and overnight things was a bright orange spray can with the words "Bug Spray" over it.
Oh, so that was the illegal stuff! Apparently little chi hadn't taken enough domestic planes to know that spray cans were not allowed. So off went her orange spray can, on an elite class.
Once little chi boarded the plane she became ever more excited. She felt like she was going to paradise. She looked out at the bright lights of Taipei, the ferris wheel at Neihu, Shinkon Mitsukoshi at Taipei Main Station, compared to the $6000 for ten minutes ride on a helicopter, she was getting more than her money's worth. For little chi was going to get a whole hour for her $1500! The plane rattled on, announcements came and went. Little chi felt fatigued but her eyes would not close.
She starred out at the pitch blackness of Taiwan thinking about the trip planned for her. She felt flattered that he had gone out of his way to plane a trip to please her. He was only a small boy, yet he understood what it means to care for another person, to make the other person feel welcomed and have no worries.
Little chi stepped off the tin box, to be welcomed by her friend Little wei.
She suddenly remembered her orange can. Where where where was her ticket to retrive her can? The can to ward off the enemy of stings, red sores and itchiness? The more she searched, the more confused she became, until at last she gave up and smiled sheepishly at the custom.
"Ummm, I've lost my ticket but I can tell you what is in that bag you have there."
"Ms. if you have lost your ticket I cannot give you your things."
"Oh, but I didn't mean to...it's only a bug spray..."
The man peeked into the bag. Handed her the bugspray.
"No next time!"
Little chi smiled
