Life is Long Enough to Live, but too Short to Regret

I have retaken the GRE again, hoping for a grand improvement, instead faced a snail inch ahead. But this time round I do not feel as sad as the last. I have managed to realize that my talents exist even if they do not reconcile with test standards. Just because some institution judges me as average does not mean I should devaluate myself. If the world said I was dumb and I believed, I would be giving up the hope of trying to become smarter. The beauty of life lies in our efforts to rebel and become what we, ourselves, believe in. Today, I believe I am smart, and I believe that I will write, whether it's for a famous newspaper, or for the pure pleasure of my friends. Either way, the core is the same; I am writing and I am sharing my thoughts.

Some of my friends are facing decision crisis now because of age, lack of expereince, or lack of faith, no one is born perfect, smart, or brilliant, so I want you all to believe in yourselves, follow your hearts; even if it means failing. Just becaue you have failed doesn't mean you are a failure, those who have failed but still looks life in the face; are the real champions.

I was afraid before moving to Japan. I have had sad times, I have had happy times, regardless of which one places more weight in my life, I appreciate them all, because they will eventually all work towards my advantange, that is, if I choose to let them abet me and if I choose to believe.

So, my dear friends, when you are feeling down and low, please remember this; life is long enough to live, but too short to regret. Follow your heart, and make yourselve smile:)

hon,

i'm very much touched by your words. thank you for encouraging yourself and me and other friends of yours.

you know, i forwarded the "you've got to find what you love" article to louise. after she read it for a min or two, she told me, " you know what my dad says abt this kind of people? they're one in a million." i was speechless. she then went on and said, " i know how you feel right now, cuz that's how i felt when i heard my dad say that." i kept wondering what louise's dad said. he might be right. i mean he is. but just like what you said, if people tell us what we can or cannot do and we believe it, we would lose every inner power to do whatever we could have done. i was depressed when i heard louise, but now i've regained my strength reading your words of inspiration.

you're my Muse and you always will be,

Cata

Sometimes I wish if I could be smarter, but no matter how hard I try, there are things I can never be regarded as "being good at" it.
Then I see myself again until I can face the reality, my limitation. It's not a giving up, but a re-understanding of myself.
Yes, I believe that I am happy with myself even though I'm not perfect, because I don't need to be talented to have a proud life.
