the second baby, awaits its birth
silently a little hope, it sits cradled
the white shell of its existence
a pearl glowing, and yet
it's deep inside her heart
she no longer wants to search
no longer wants to give birth
the second or third or fourth,
await their turn to be born
but this woman turned girl
has no strength to breed, no more.
surrounded by light she surrenders
opening her palms she wants to hold
all and nothing any/forever-more.
